CovaiCare has the privilege of being the only one chosen in Tamil Nadu by the Ministry of Social Welfare, Government of India, for their initiative “Anubhav”, a Pan India Project to help create and spread awareness programmes for senior citizens throughout the country.
The Ministry of Social Justice and Empowerment has commissioned a number of NGOs in select parts of the country to address issues related to senior care in India. The Ministry along with Media4community foundation New Delhi has initiated a project titled Anubhav to help senior citizens by disseminating latest and relevant health; technology and science information through several media including community Radio Stations.
Under this project, Government of India provides a recording studio at the community in every State and also training for seniors to produce the podcasts which will be aired to reach the people via radio.
In this connection, a survey was commissioned by the Project Head of Anubhav to ascertain the expertise available at senior care communities in several areas listed by the Ministry via an online form.
This project aims to address issues related to senior citizens in India and also empower them.
TThe project was conceived , designed and implemented with Dr Sreedher Ramamurthy as a principal investigator.
At Coimbatore, Mr Madan Senthil, Chairperson, Rathinam Group of Industries inaugurated the audio studio for the project which was set up at Covai S3 Retirement Community on 2 December 2021. Dr Sreedhar, Director of Tapovani Broadcasting was also present for the inaugural function and helped us to upload the podcast recordings.
Anubhav is a voluntary project providing fun, entertainment and useful information on issues related to Senior Citizens. A list of illustrative topics was circulated to all residents. We had also sent a mail explaining who and how the recording should be produced from the comforts of your own houses.
The minute it was announced, it was amazing to see so many residents who happily volunteered to create a "Covai Vani Podcast" channel. They have produced 13 creative, interesting and informative Podcasts already.
