Dr Sreedhar, Director of Anubhav Tapovani, a broadcasting channel in Coimbatore, came up with an innovative idea of selecting talented senior citizens across Coimbatore to sing a song which represents unity on the Independence Day and on virtual digital mode. They can choose favourite songs of Mahatma Gandhi or Subramania Bharathiyar. “This will give a good reading Coimbatore Senior citizens celebrate Independence Day in an unique way " he added.
They wanted the video/audio recordings not exceeding 10 minutes and to be sent 3 days before the actual live programme.
So Covai S3 and Covai Chinmayam seniors sent the recording of songs to Tapovani.
Mrs Sharada Rajan, a resident and a dedicated volunteer of Covai Chinmayam PWD Group coordinated the singing of "Vande Mataram” by the Special Need Adults.
Mrs Kantha Chari a resident of Covai Chinmayam and parent of a PWD adult sent the recording of Dharani who was on a holiday at Mumbai.
Mrs Revathi Bhasker meticulously collected all the beautiful recordings from Covai S3 and Covai Chinmayam residents which were forwarded to Anubhav Tapovani.
After 24 hours we were thrilled to hear that three of the recordings from CovaiCare Retirement Communities were selected by the panelists.
Dr Sreedhar broadcasted the Independence Day event live at 6 PM on 15th August where all the participants performed live on a Zoom call.
Other recordings were also aired on Anubhav Tapovani on a different day.
